PATROL REPORT – January 7, 2024

January 7, 2024 – (Balboa Peninsula Point Patrol Assignment)

7:00pm On duty KMA security patrol entering Balboa Peninsula HOH community driving down Oceanfront Blvd assessing  community for nefarious looking characters, open resident garages, open gate doors or visitors loitering near residents special focus given to construction site homes for possible homeless  unauthorized personal no issues of concern discerned during the first hour of patrol. Noticed a several groups of youths walking towards the beach from different access points with special interest given to L, M street and  Jetty park access. Otherwise, 1st hour unremarkable. Continued patrol throughout streets and alley ways areas secure

8:00pm. Patrol unremarkable during this hour no changes in status. Site secure along beach access points and construction projects within the community. Courtesy notice given to Pier fisherman of Pier closure time. Construction site on Oceanfront appears open.  Area assessed no loitering individuals discerned on site. Reposition wooden broad to close off entrance point. Site secure

9:00pm   Garage door open were addressed by providing friendly reminders to residents to please close their garage doors No signs of loitering vagrants within any construction site. No signs of vandalism or nefarious characters observed.

10:00pm Closure of Jetty park, pier and access beach points during this hour with special attention required by Jetty park entrance point. Beach front areas and life guard stations assess for presence of  non-compliant individuals No issues of concern individuals departed without incident  walk through was uneventful

11:00pm   . Patrol vehicle parked at beach entrance sites where new vehicles discerned along access points G, L M and Jetty Park encountered youths attempting to find bio illumination areas.  Individuals departed as requested without any issues of concern. security spotlight used to draw attention to security presence as deterrent for new comers attempting to gain access

12:00am  2014 Nissian Pathfinder parked near M street beach access point revealed two youths engaged in colitis shocked by security  patrol vehicle spotlight  couples  removed without incident Continue to deter beach access by using spotlight upon observing vehicle approaching patrol vehicle posted area. No issues of concern with no open garages or individuals loitering in their vehicles . Site remains secure no access to beach allowed.

1:00 am Patrol of surrounding community did not reveal individuals sleeping in cars or open garage doors, excessive noise or activity coming from residents homes. Site remains free of vandalism excessive noise or disturbance by individuals seeking to continue social activities within the property grounds.

2:00am Patrol vehicle lights and spotlight used as deterrent for individual walking on street no issues hours of operation provided with several intoxicated appearing individuals warned about public intoxication  Seems young people coming at this hour have been drinking, yet all individuals encountered complied as directed departing without incident

3:00am. Final perimeter check of Beach access points were clear with no individuals encountered nor any vehicle with sleeping individuals discerned within the community. No garage doors discovered open or any signs of transients loitering within the community. Jetty Park entrance encountered three females requiring warning police would be contacted if group did not depart. Otherwise no other people except few fisherman observed.  Site remains
