PATROL REPORT – July 7, 2024

July 7, 2024 – (Balboa Peninsula Point Patrol Assignment)

7pm to 3am S/O David Sierras

7pm – Patrolling streets, alleys and parks…… Checking on homes under construction, observing vehicle and pedestrian movement, no unusual activity.

8pm – Patrolling streets, alleys and parks…… Checking on homes under construction, observing vehicle and pedestrian movement, no unusual activity.

9pm – Patrolling streets, alleys and parks…… observing vehicle and pedestrian movement, no unusual activity.

10pm – Securing  the pier and warning people the beach is closed. *At 10:56pm I noticed a suspicious white van on E. Oceanfront near G Street, the van drove to the Jetty Park and exited Balboa Point via E. Ocean Blvd.

11pm – West Jetty View Park is now closed and I cleared the park of all visitors. ***At 11:48pm I observed a white Toyota Camry back up into a parked vehicle parked in front of 2296 Channel Rd. I attempted to gather information from the driver but a male passenger stepped out of the vehicle and stopped me from gathering information and he returned to the Camry as the driver. I called 911 and I reported the incident. The police were able to stop the Camry at 21st Street and W. Balboa Blvd and I provided information to police for their report.

12am – Patrolling streets, alleys and parks…. I noticed most of trash containers full and trash overflowing.

1am – Patrolling streets, alleys and parks….. At 1:01am I attempted to remove a male and female from the Jetty Park but the male was not cooperating and wanted to challenge me, he and his female companion eventually exited the park.

2am – Patrolling streets, alleys and parks….. Water from a broken water sprinkler at the Jetty Park is flowing out into the street.

3am – No problems to report…. Off Duty.
